Albin is an Emergency Medicine Physician and the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine

at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ as well as the Director of the Muhlenberg Satellite ED in

Plainfield, NJ. He has been in that role since 2019 and was part of the leadership team

that helped navigate the ED through the COVID pandemic. He and his wife have been

living in Watchung, NJ since 2021.

His parents emigrated from India to Bergen County, New Jersey, where he was born

and spent his childhood. His family then moved to Florida where he did high school,

college and medical school. He returned to New York City, where he did residency in the

Bronx and met his now wife.

He is honored to have the opportunity to give back to his community. He has particular

interest in the health and access to care for the community as well as transparency in

local government.

Hi, I’m Albin Xavier. My wife, Lauren, and I have been living in Watchung since 2021

and we really fell in love with the community. I am running for Watchung Borough

Council and seek the support of my neighbors. I plan to bring my experience as an ER

Physician and Vice Chair of an Emergency Department to our Borough to make our

community more inclusive, attractive for families and business, and local government

more transparent.
