Who I Am

Marcel Akende, born in a peasant household in Cameroon, Central Africa, is the

inspiring sixth of seven siblings. He holds the honor of being the first in his family to

earn a college degree, a milestone achieved after migrating to the United States in 2003

through the green card lottery. Marcel arrived in Los Angeles, CA, and balanced work

and education to earn a BSc in Finance and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

With over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, Marcel has excelled

as a registered financial advisor for the past five years. His dedication extends beyond

his career; he is a devoted father to delightful six-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, who

bring immense joy to his life.

Now residing in Watchung, NJ, Marcel’s commitment to serving his community is deeply

rooted in his humble beginnings and strong belief in equality and fairness. His energy,

enthusiasm, and politeness shine through in all his endeavors, making him a cherished

member of his community.
